Afghan journalist shot dead in Kabul in daylight

Kabul | An Afghan journalist, named Mena Mangal was shot dead in broad daylight by a few unidentified gunmen, an official has said.

Mena Mangal was a cultural adviser for the lower house of parliament and was previously a TV anchor, associated with about 3 local news channels.

Mangal was on her way to work when she was shot.

Kabul police have launched an investigation. However, no one has yet claimed the responsibility for the attack.

The police said it is unclear whether the attack was a personal enmity or an act of terrorism.

Both ISIS and the Taliban have been known to carry out an attack on journalists in the past.
