Beijing Locks Some Parts As Six Fresh Cases Emerge Amid Fear of Second Wave of Coronavirus

The lockdown was declared in parts of the capital Beijing on Saturday morning. On Friday, two big markets here were closed.

 

Beijing| Six fresh domestic Coronavirus cases were recorded in the Chinese capital Beijing forcing parts of it to go under lockdown again. The new cases have spurred the speculations of re-emergence of the virus in China where the pandemic had crossed the peak.

Many of the cases were traced to a meat market in Fengtai district. After the confirmation of fresh cases, citizens in 11 residential areas were barred from leaving. China hadn’t reported new Coronavirus cases in the past two months until Thursday when a person who visited the Xinfadi market.

All people working here will be tested. Food samples have also been collected. Schools were scheduled to open in Beijing from Monday. Now this order has stayed.
