Teenage climate change activist Greta Thunberg asked the global leaders assembled at the United Nations: “How dare you?”
New York| The 16 years old Climate Activist Greta Thunberg on Monday called out the world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly. She said that the world leaders who can bring about change are looking at teenagers like herself for hope while doing nothing themselves.
Thunberg who was visibly emotional, with tears in her eyes also said that she should have been back home, attending school instead of attending the session while giving hope to the powerful world leaders. She also asked the US lawmakers to listen to the scientists. She sternly said that the leaders have failed to deliver on actions needed to avoid the worst effects of climate change. She further warned, “If the world continued with business as usual, her generation would face a catastrophe.”

“I shouldn’t be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean,” said Thunberg, who travelled for two weeks on a solar-powered sailboat to reach the United States this month. “Yet you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you?” said Thunberg. “This is all wrong,” claimed Thunberg.
