India Reminds “History of Torture and Violence” As Pak Raises Kashmir At UNHRC

India at UNHRC said that there is large-scale persecution of people in Balochistan. Violence is being done by the government here.

Geneva| India has expressed concern over Pakistan raising the issue of Kashmir in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). On Monday, Pakistan raised the issue of Kashmir in the 43rd session of the ongoing UNHRC in Geneva. India’s permanent representative Senthil Kumar responded to this. He said that Pakistan should look into its own backyard before accusing anyone. Before giving unsolicited advice to anyone, it should consider the human rights violation in its country.

India said in UNHRC that Pakistan is misusing this global forum of human rights and its process. Pakistan is the only country in South Asia where the government commits genocide. Accusing other countries is a misconception.

‘There is no external effect of removing Article 370 from Kashmir’

Senthil Kumar said that the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir in August last year had no external effect. People rallied against Pakistan’s attempts to spoil peace in Kashmir. It is unfortunate that Pakistan has a track record of human rights abuses.

‘History of Pakistan is full of bloodshed’

He said – “How can one trust the allegations of a country whose history is full of religious bigotry, bloodshed and murders. There have been many incidents of reversing power and running a puppet government. When such a country talks about human rights at UNHRC, its own credibility gets questioned.”

‘More than 47000 Baloch people went missing’

India said that so far more than 47000 Baloch and more than 35000 Pashtuns are missing from Pakistan. In Balochistan, there were atrocities with the people of the Hazara community. 500 people of this community were killed and more than 10,000 people were forced to leave Pakistan. The blasphemy law is being misused here. Minority marriages are being conducted.
