Iranian President Hassan Rouhani informed on Twitter that the plane was shot down by Iran mistakenly. He called it a result of “Human Error”.
Dubai| Ukrainian Boeing plane that crashed earlier this week in Iran was flying close to the sensitive military area under the elite Revolutionary Guards and thus the plane was shot down unintentionally due to Human error, the Iranian military said in a statement on TV on Saturday.
The responsible authorities would be referred to a judicial department within the military and held accountable for their action, the statement further added. President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, informed on Twitter that the plane was shot down by Iran mistakenly.

All 176 passengers on board were killed in the crash. The Iranian military expressed their condolences to the grieving families.
The Shia majority country had initially denied the allegations of shooting down the plane. USA and Canada had suggested that the plane was shot down by Iran.
