Army brutality in Myanmar is increasing day by day. On Saturday, the Air Force conducted an air attack on a village adjoining the border the next day after opening fire on a man’s funeral. Local reports say that Myanmar military is indulging in open killing of many people, including children. Reuters quoted local media as saying that the village is in the state of Karen, southeast of Myanmar. People took a shelter in nearby cave to hide and save themselves from the attack.
Fearing an army attack, around 3,000 people were forced to flee to Thailand. The area is believed to be occupied by the rebel group Karen National Union (KNU). KNU says it is harboring hundreds of people who have fled to central Myanmar in recent weeks amid heightened violence in the country.

The ceasefire agreement was signed with the government in 2015
According to reports, this is the biggest attack in the area in the last few years. KNU signed a ceasefire agreement with the government in 2015. The army overthrew the government on 1 February.
Earlier on Saturday, KNU said that Brigade-5 Forces have attacked an army base. It killed 10 soldiers including Lieutenant Colonel. On this day, the army of Myanmar celebrated Armed Forces Day in the capital city.
