New Zealand Free of COVID-19, PM Jacinda Ardern Lifts All The Restrictions

According to the new rules, there is no need to follow social distancing in New Zealand. However, the country’s borders will remain closed for foreigners.

While the whole world is battling the coronavirus pandemic, New Zealand is now completely free of the coronavirus. The New Zealand government has lifted all restrictions after declaring that the country doesn’t have a single active case of the coronavirus. New Zealand has now reached Level 1 of Vigilance which is the lowest level in the alert system of the country.
According to the new rules, there is no need to follow social distancing in New Zealand. However, the country’s borders will remain closed for foreigners. There have been no reported cases of coronavirus for more than two weeks. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern told reporters that she danced happily when she came to know that the country was completely free from the coronavirus.

Jacinda Ardern said, “We are in a safe and strong position. Although it is not easy to return to the situation before the coronavirus now, now the commitment and full focus will be on the economic development of the country rather than our health system.” She admitted that while the work was not over yet but no one can deny that it was a great achievement. She also thanked the people. The lockdown was imposed in the country on 25th March but now all restrictions have been lifted.
