Russian Foreign Minister Accuses West Of Nuclear War

Moscow: Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused the Western Politicians for fixating on nuclear war, a week after the Russia’s invasion on Ukraine. In an interview with Russian and foreign media, he said that World War Three can be nuclear.

Speaking with the Agence France Presse he said, “It is clear that World War Three can only be nuclear.”

He says that the idea of nuclear war is spinning constantly, and is not in the heads of Russians. He said, “I would like to point out that it’s in the heads of Western politicians that the idea of a nuclear war is spinning constantly, and not in the heads of Russians.”

He further added, “Therefore I assure you that we will not allow any provocations to throw us off balance.”

On Sunday the Russian President Vladimir Putin had ordered Russia’s nuclear forces to stay on high alert. He had accused the West of taking “unfriendly” steps against his country.

World’s largest armaments are with Moscow along with a huge cache of ballistic missiles which form the backbone of the country’s deterrence forces.

According to the Arab News, Lavrov accused NATO of seeking to maintain its supremacy and said that while Russia had a lot of good will, it could not let anyone undermine its interests.

“The Russian military operation against Ukraine is aimed, among other things, at ensuring that Kyiv does not join NATO,” he said.

He further added, “Russian forces were attacking military targets in Ukraine but added that the term ‘collateral damage’ has been in use since the Western campaigns in Iraq and Libya.”
