Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Polls 2024: 28.12% Voter Turnout Recorded By 11 Am

Voting for Jammu and Kashmir’s third and last phase in ongoing. Around 39 lakh voters are expected to exercise their franchise across 40 assembly seats – 24 in the Jammu region and 16 in Kashmir. The final phase will decide the fate of 415 candidates.

According to ECI, as of 11 am, a voter turnout of 28.12 per cent has been recorded. Bandipore is at the top with the highest turnout of 28.04%.

Meanwhile, The Voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5, and the results for both the states will be out on October 8.

New Delhi | Congress Lok Sabha leader Adhir Ranjan today created an uproar in the lower house of the parliament when he said you can’t compare river Ganga with sewage water while responding to a leader’s comparison of PM Modi with former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Speaking in Lok Sabha, the Congress leader was responding to Union Minister Pratap Sarangi’s statement during Motion of Thanks on the President’s address of comparing PM Modi with Spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda. Adhir Rajan said, ” You have the right to praise your leader but it’s not good if you compare Narendra Vivekananda with Narendra Damodardas Modi.”

A BJP MP in his quick response to this said, “It’s far better than saying Indira is India, India is Indira.” Responding to this the Congress MP said, You can’t compare the Holy Ganga with the sewage water. Don’t force us to say such things, we respect the Prime Minister.”

Ranjan’s statement created an uproar claiming it to be the insult of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Many BJP leader demanded the Congress leader to apologize over his statement.

Pratap Sarangi Initiating the debate on Motion of Thanks on the President’s address said,” The Congress made us realise the importance of strong leadership as policy paralysis was a “new norm” during the ten-year rule of the party with the “accidental prime minister” at the helm, Union minister Pratap Sarangi said Monday.
