Maharashtra Politics: Shinde Sena Passes Majority Mark

Mumbai: After two weeks of political unrest in Maharashtra, the Eknath Shinde government easily reached the majority-mark on Monday, winning the trust vote. Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray faction filed a new petition in the Supreme Court on Monday against the assembly speaker’s choice to recognize a new whip for the party.

The new coalition managed to get 164 votes in the 288-member house.
