Months after coining the term ‘Chowkidar chor hai’ to target PM Modi over Rafale deal, Congress President Rahul Gandhi today told the supreme court that he made the statement in the heat of campaigning and the court had never said those words. Congress President today expressed regret to the Supreme Court for his comments on its order on the Rafale fighter jet deal. He said, “My statements were used and misused by political opponents.”
Last week, BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi filed a complaint against Rahul Gandhi in the Supreme Court accusing him of misquoting the apex court on its Rafale order. He was given a week to explain before the ruling BJP’s contempt case against him was taken up on Tuesday. #RafaleDeal #RahulGandhi #PMModi
