BJP-RSS is targeting Mamata govt through a planned conspiracy: Mayawati

New Delhi | Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati today responding to the recent violence in Kolkata said that Mamata government in West Bengal is deliberately targeted by PM Modi and his disciplines since a long time under a planned strategy.

In a series of tweet, Mayawati wrote,” BJP under the guidance of PM Modi and his discipline have been deliberately targeting the Mamata Government in West Bengal through a planned strategy”. Mamata is again targeted under the same conspiracy to divert the people’s attention from the shortcoming and failures of the Union Government,” she added.

Mayawati further blamed the BJP and its political ideologue RSS for violence in West Bengal. She wrote,” Since the Lok Sabha elections have been announced, there has been news of violence in West Bengal, BJP and RSS are solely responsible for this.”

The former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh alleged that the BJP-RSS duo tried to do the same in Uttar Pradesh but the SP-BSP has failed there intentions and won’t allow till the completion of the last phase.

Taking action against the violence which erupted in the roadshow of BJP president Amit Shah on Tuesday in Kolkata, the Election commission on Wednesday ordered campaigning in nine West Bengal constituencies to end at 10 PM on Thursday, a day before its scheduled deadline.

In a hurriedly-convened press conference, Deputy Election Commissioner Chandra Bhushan Kumar said it was for the first time that such an action has been taken using constitutional powers of the poll panel. The Election Commission (EC) also ordered the removal of Principal Secretary (Home) Atri Bhattacharya and Additional Director General, CID, Rajeev Kumar from their postings in West Bengal.
