Wouldn’t have allowed Sunny Deol to contest from Gurdaspur if I had known he was against Sunil Jhakar: Dharmendra

New Delhi | Veteran Actor and father of BJP candidate Sunny Deol, Dharmendra in a shocking revelation has said that he wouldn’t have allowed his son Dharmendra to contest from Gurdaspur if he knew that he was contesting against Sunil Jakhar.

Citing his friendly relation with Sunil Jakhar’s father, Balram Jakhar, Dharmendra said,” Balram was like a brother, had I know his son Sunil is contesting from Gurdaspur, I wouldn’t have allowed Sunny to contest.”

Dharmendra further added that Sunny coming from film industry won’t be able to debate like Sunil Jakhar. He said,” Sunny cannot debate with Sunil Jakhar as he is an experienced politician just like his father and we come from the film industry, We are not here to debate as we have come here to listen to the plight of people as we love our land.”

Sunny Deol, the BJP candidate is contesting against Congress candidate and sitting MP Sunil Jakhar, who won the sea in 2017 in the By polls on this seat. The seat was earlier held by BJP’s Vinod Khanna till his death.

Polling on this seat will be held on May 19 in the last phase of Lok Sabha polls and the results will be declared on May 23.
