Congress willing to give up four seats: Rahul Gandhi on alliance with AAP in Delhi

New Delhi | Finally breaking silence on the confusion over AAP-Congress alliance in Delhi, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi said that they are willing to give up four seats.

The Congress leader on Monday tweeted that an alliance between the Congress & AAP in Delhi would mean the rout of the BJP. He also accused Arvind Kejriwal of taking “another U-turn”.

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal quickly retorted in Hindi, “What U-turn? The talks were still going on. Your tweet shows that alliance is not your intention but only a show. It makes me sad that you are only making big statements. Today, saving the nation from the Modi-Shah threat is the most important mission. It is unfortunate that you are splitting the anti-Modi votes in UP and all other states.”

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday had said his party will do anything to “save the country” from Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.

The feud has been going on and off between the two parties.

Earlier in this month, Congress had announced that they will contest for all the 7 seats in Delhi Lok Sabha alone.

Party in-charge for Delhi PC Chacko blamed the Aam Aadmi PartyтАЩs leadership for the failure of not having an alliance against the BJP in the national capital.

Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit had been firm in her stand against the alliance.

AAP wished to have an alliance with Congress in the states of Haryana and Punjab along with Delhi.

But Congress was only interested in the alliance in Delhi.

Delhi will have its Lok Sabha elections in the sixth phase on May 12.
