Sidhu, along with this, also accused Modi of allowing the rich to escape from the country after looting nationalized banks.
New Delhi| The troubles of Punjab’s Cabinet Minister and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu seem to be increasing. After banning him to campaign for 72 hours earlier, the election commission has sent him a notice once again. This time, for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Prime minister Narendra Modi.
The EC has sent a show-cause notice to Sidhu for the violation of Model Code of Conduct. Election Commission has given 24 hours to Sidhu to file a reply. The EC had received a complaint from BJP that Sidhu had made a derogatory remark about Prime Minister Modi during an election rally in Madhya Pradesh on April 29.
He alleged that the prime minister had made money in the Rafale Deal. Sidhu, along with this, also accused Modi of allowing the rich to escape from the country after looting nationalized banks.
Earlier, the Election Commission has stopped Sidhu not to campaign for 72 hours in April for a speech warning the Muslim community that efforts are being made to separate their votes in Bihar.
