‘No Talks with Congress Chief on Government Formation’: Sharad Pawar says

More talks needed, keen eye on the political situation, Pawar says.

NEW DELHI| On Monday National Congress Party head Sharad Pawar after meeting Congress President Sonia Gandhi said ‘We had a discussion on the political situation happening in Maharashtra’. Sharad Pawar landed in Delhi today morning to attend the Rajya sabha and to meet Sonia Gandhi over the Maharashtra Government formation issue.

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and NCP head Sharad Pawar had a discussion for 50 minutes at the residence of Sonia Gandhi in Delhi.

While addressing the press after the meet Sharad Pawar said, ‘I shared information of the happenings in Maharashtra Politics. We decided to keep a keen eye on the situation in Maharashtra’.

Will NCP-Congress form alliance with ShivSena, was the subject involved in the discussion on which Pawar replied, ‘We did not have any discussion on forming an alliance with ShivSena for now. Just focusing on the political situation in Maharashtra’.

‘Forming an alliance with ShivSena for which we need to have a brief discussion with our senior leaders’, Pawar replied, on question of what stops NCP-Congress to form an alliance with Sena.

‘We cannot ignore our associates, I heard they are upset about something for which I need to take care of,’ Sharad Pawar added.

The situation still remains the same in Maharashtra as the alliance still beneath between NCP-Congress- Sena. Sources revealed parties are almost close to form an alliance just a formality is needed to complete. All 3 parties are holding for higher share, negotiations are still underway.

“Sharad Pawar met the Congress president today and briefed her on the situation in Maharashtra. It was decided that in a day or two, representatives from the NCP and Congress will meet in Delhi to discuss the way forward,” said Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala.

Last week, the Sena pulled out its only minister in the central government, signalling a separation from the BJP, its ally for more than three decades.
