TMC writes to EC over PM Modi’s alleged Model code violation during Kedarnath

TestHostEntry

Kolkata | The Trinamool Congress has written to the Election Commission over Prime Minister’s alleged violation of Model code of conduct during his Kedarnath trip.

The letter states that even though the election campaigning for the last phase of polling has stopped on 17th of May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Kedarnath Yatra is being highly televised in the national as well as local media.

They claimed that this is a gross violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

It says that he even announced the master plan and addressed the public, which is absolutely “unethical and morally incorrect”.

“Every minute detail of his activities during the visit is being widely publicised with an ulterior motive to influence voters directly or indirectly”, the letter alleges.

“All these moves are well calculated with the ill intention to influence the voters even on the date of the poll”, it further says.

The party accuses EC of being “blind and deaf” to PM Modi.

The Election Commission has been in the past been accused of being biased too.

Earlier this week when the EC prohibited election campaign one day earlier in West Bengal due to violence in BJP Chief Amit Shah’s roadshow, various parties hit out at the government body for favouring Modi-Shah duo.
