Mumbai: The Mumbai police, on Sunday, shared a hilarious meme to spread a public interest message. The Mumbai police on its Twitter handle shared a still from a popular scene from the 2007 film Welcome.

With a caption, โ€œIf anyone asks you for protection money, donโ€™t panicโ€ฆ immediately notify your nearest police station. Due cognizance of the complaint will be takenโ€ฆ #MumbaiFirst.โ€

The scene originally portrays Anil Kapoor as a gangster demanding extortion money from Paresh Rawalโ€™s character in front of his boss which is played by Nana Patekar and other gangsters. โ€˜

Anil Kapoorโ€™s character (Majnu Bhai) calls Paresh Rawalโ€™s character (Ghungru) and puts the line on speaker, and in a commanding voice demands four crores as extortion money, Ghungru responds by saying โ€œTera baap yaha chod Kar gaya tha ya tere maโ€, which translates did your mom or dad left it here?.

However, this is not the first time Mumbai police have shared a meme to spread a public awareness message.
