Mumbai: Many attempts to destabilize the Shiv Sena, according to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, have failed. Mr Thackeray, who leads the Shiv Sena, stated on Saturday night at the trailer launch of “Dharmaveer,” a Marathi biopic on Sena leader Anand Dighe, that “many attempts were made to destroy the Shiv Sena but those who attempted were finished.”
He praised committed Shivsainiks for their hard work and sacrifices in keeping the party strong.
“This film highlights the rise of the Shiv Sena and what loyalty means to ordinary Shivsainiks,” Mr Thackeray added.
Prasad Oak, a Marathi actor, plays the key role of Anand Dighe. On May 13, the film will be released.
Dighe, the Shiv Sena’s Thane district unit chief, was a popular grassroots leader with a significant following. Dharmaveer was a fictitious character created by Sena founder Bal Thackeray.
