Amar Jawan Jyoti To Be Build At Chhattisgarh By Congress: Bhupesh Baghel

Raipur: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday announced a memorial for the soldiers and other personals who sacrificed their lives in the name of the nation on the lines of the Amar Jawan Jyoti flame would be built in Raipur. In recent times, the Amar Jawan Jyoti was merged with the National War Memorial.

Attacking on the Centre over the merger, and for its decision to “extinguish” the eternal flame of the Amar Jawan Jyoti to merge with the National War Memorial, Baghel says that the government has played with ‘people’s emotions.’ In a press release, Baghel said the removal of the Amar Jawan Jyoti pained him.

Adding on he said that Congress will now bring the flame of Amar Jawan Jyoti to Chhattisgarh and Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi will lay its foundation stone, on February 3.

He said that in the honor of those who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s sake, on the campus of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force’s 4th battalion in Mana area, a memorial named ‘Chhattisgarh Amar Jawan Jyoti’ will be constructed.

“The flame at the memorial will glow continuously,” the Chief Minister added.

“Amar Jawan Jyoti’ (in Delhi) has been doused. They (Centre) have played with the emotions of people,” Baghel said, ANI reported.

He further said, “Congress is the party of people who make sacrifices and know how to respect sacrifices.”

“We will honor the martyrdom of the brave-hearts (Police/Paramilitary/Army) of Chhattisgarh who sacrificed their lives for the nation in any part of the country, as well as the brave-hearts of the country who sacrificed their lives in the state through this memorial,” the chief minister further said in the release.

Amid the launch of financial assistance scheme named ‘Rajiv Gandhi Bhoomihin Krishi Majdoor Nyay Yojana’ for landless laborers, Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit the state on February 3.

Speaking on the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Baghel said that the ideology of truth and non-violence of the Congress was inspired by Gandhi.

“Congress’ ideology is inspired by Gandhi…It’s about truth and non-violence…While Modiji’s ideology is that of Savarkar and Godse. It’s about violence and conspiracy. Congress & BJP are two sides of a river,” he added.
