Srinagar: Two days after the Government school Hindu teacher’s target killing in the valley, a bank manager from Rajasthan was shot dead by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam. This makes it the second targeted attack on Hindus in the Valley in three days.
Terrorists attacked Vijay Kumar, manager of Elaqahi Dehati Bank, inside its Areh branch today. The victim died on the way to the hospital.
Kumar, who hailed originally from Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh, had recently joined his posting in Kulgam.
The attack comes just two days after a Hindu teacher from Jammu, Rajni Bala, was killed by terrorists outside a school, also in Kulgam.
The Police stated the area has been cordoned off and efforts are on to track down the terrorists behind the attack.
Last evening, a civilian named Farooq Ahmad Sheikh was injured in a targeted terror attack inside his home.
In another Terrorist attack, three soldiers were injured after an explosion in their vehicle early this morning. One of the soldiers has suffered critical injuries.
The Police are now trying to confirm if the blast was caused by an IED, a grenade, or the malfunctioning of the car battery. Sources said the vehicle has been heavily damaged and it’s unlikely that this was caused by battery issues.
The Jammu And Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has decided to transfer all the Government employees in the valley to the district headquarters after massive protests by the Kashmiri Pandit community in the region.
The Protesting Kashmiri Pandits employees had given the administration a 24-hour ultimatum for relocation outside Kashmir till the situation improves in Valley and if the government fails in meeting their demands, they had threatened mass migration.
