Arvind Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann To Hold Roadshow In Amritsar Today

Amritsar: Punjab chief minister-elect Bhagwant Mann and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal will be holding a roadshow today in Amritsar for celebrating party’s victory in Punjab Assembly Polls.

Speaking with reporters in Sangrur, Bhagwant Mann told reporters that they will seek blessings of Guru Sahib. He said, “We will take the blessings of Guru Sahib to fulfill the promises we have made to the people of Punjab. Our national convenor Arvind Kejriwal is coming to Amritsar (for roadshow) today to thank the people of the State.”

Bhagwant Mann battled from Dhuri seat. With seeking 58,000 votes, he was elected the AAP’s legislature party leader at a meeting of the party MLAs in Mohali. On Saturday at Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh, he met the Governor Banwarilal Purohit for staking claim for forming the government in Punjab. The swearing-in ceremony of Mann will take place at the native village of the freedom fighter Bhagat Singh on March 16 at 12:30 pm, said Mann outside the Raj Bhavan.

Mann invited entire Punjab to his oath-taking ceremony and also assured the people of the state that his cabinet will take a “historic decision”. “People from houses across Punjab will come to the ceremony, they’re going to also pay tribute to Bhagat Singh. We will have an honest cabinet,” Mann was quoted as saying by ANI.

AAP registered victory over Punjab with 92 seats. 18 seats were won by Congress in the 117-member Assembly while BJP won two and Shiromani Akali Dali three seats.

Bhagwant Mann said that he will take all efforts to provide his service at people’s home. He said, “We will make efforts to provide all facilities to the people from the comfort of their homes. We went to seek votes door-to-door, even in the fields of the farmers. But after we win, we tell them to visit Chandigarh to get their work done. I want the least number of people to visit Chandigarh to get their work done.”
