New Delhi: BJP Leader Tajinder Bagga’s arrest on Friday set off a big challenging show between police of three states. Bagga has been granted police security by a court in Delhi. He has termed his detention by Punjab police as “illegal”.
After his release from Punjab police custody, he was produced before a court at Dwarka. At the Duty Magistrate directed the Delhi Police to provide security to Bagga and his family. This decision was taken by the Duty Magistrate after the BJP leader expressed an apprehension that such incidents may happen to him again, his lawyers said.
His advocates YP Singh and Sanket Gupta, said that a medical examination of Bagga was done. It revealed that his back and shoulders were injured. Bagga’s statement would be recorded before the Magistrate concerned on Monday. On Friday night Bagga reached back his home. Bagga flashed the victory sign upon his arrival and was fed sweets by Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta.
Speaking with News Agency ANI, PS Bagga, Father of Tajinder Bagga said, “Police officials started dragging Tajinder (Bagga), they didn’t allow him to wear his turban, this is against our religious principles. We’ve asked Punjabi brothers to raise their voices against this. Finally, Tajinder is back, this is the victory of truth.”
Bagga has said that he will keep fighting until Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal apologises for his remarks made about on Kashmiri Pandits.
Aam Aadmi Party has defended his arrest. AAP Leaders are saying that the Punjab police are acting in an unbiased way and the action was taken after Bagga refused to cooperate with the investigation despite notices were sent to him five times. AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj has said they have collected information about Bagga. He uses “obscene, toxic and hateful language” on social media.
The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) national secretary was booked last month after AAP leader Sunny Singh filed a complaint against him. In the complaint he is alleging that Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga had made provocative statements, spread rumours, and tried to create religious and communal enmity.
