BJP MLA T Raja Singh Booked For ‘Intent To Outrage Religious Feelings’

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police booked BJP MLA T Raja Singh, who sang “Bharat will become a Hindu Rashtra soon.” He has been booked for creating nuisance and disturbing public peace and tranquility. Singh allegedly made proactive communal speeches during the Ram Navami Shobha Yatra on Sunday.

The Yatra crossed minority-dominated old area of the city and during the procession proactive speeches and songs were made.

Shahinayathgunj Police booked the lawmaker under Section 153A (promoting enmity based on religion), 295 A (malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), and 505 (conducting public mischief) of the IPC.

The lyrics of the song read as, “Bharat will become a Hindu Rashtra soon and those who don’t take Lord Ram’s name will have to run away from Bharat.”

Goshamahal BJP MLA Raja Singh said, “After Ayodhya, now Mathura and Kashi, Yogi will use the bulldozer to clean and Bharat will become a ‘Hindu Rashtra very soon’.”

As a part of same song BJP MLA also sang, “Jo ram ka naam na le unko Bharat se bhagana hai,” [those who don’t take the name of Lord Ram will have to run away from India].

After examining the audio and video footages of the leader singing this song during the Shobha Yatra and public address, police has booked him under serious sections. 

For violating the rules, on Tuesday, police also registered a case against Bhagyanagar Sriram Navami Utsava Samithi president, Bhagwanth Rao.
