“Come Together And Fight”: Mamata Banerjee Appeals Opposition Leaders To Beat BJP In 2024

Kolkata: In a letter to opposition leaders and chief ministers of non-BJP-ruled states, Mamata Banerjee said that all progressive forces in the country “should come together and oppose the oppressive force.” This is the 67-year-old leader’s latest attempt to form a coalition against the ruling party at the centre ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. “(The) BJP has constantly assaulted the federal framework of our country, and now, it’s time to oppose this oppressive government together,” the West Bengal chief minister wrote in her scathing letter.

She also alleged the misuse of central agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate, the CBI and the Central Vigilance Commission.

Her government is being chastised in Bengal for its handling of the Birbhum violence issue,  according to the letter.

Following a spectacular altercation, five BJP MPs were suspended from the state assembly on Monday.
