Congress To Begin Bharat Jodo Yatra On Gandhi Jayanti

New Delhi: According to a senior party leader, The Congress will reach out to civil society members and like-minded political groups for the ‘Bharat Jodo’ yatra from October 2 for rallying support to combat polarisation and protect Constitution, democracy and various institutions.

It will be a five-month-long yatra which will cover a distance of 3,500kms starting from Kanyakumari and concluding in Kashmir, according to party sources. The yatra will pass through 12 states and is the first such major exercise in decades, covering the entire stretch of the country from south to north, they added.

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will also hold a day-long session which will have 70 working presidents in states, ministers in party-ruled states, besides some party spokespersons and others left out at the Shivir, and will hear them out.

A task force will soon be announced to provide a blueprint to the decisions taken in the recently conducted Chintan Shivir (Brainstorming session) which took place in Udaipur, the task force will also help formulate the party’s strategy for the 2024 Lok-Sabha elections and make the party election-ready. they said.

He further said, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi will have an advisory committee of senior leaders from the CWC, who will guide her and the party in taking the party position on important issues.

The party is also going to conduct training sessions for leaders in Kerla aiming to strengthen the communication strategy of the party,accordingto the Congress leader.

The second phase of Jan Jagran Abhiyan is to begin from June 15 and will focus on price rise, economy and unemployment during the next three months till October,they concluded.The first phase of Jan Jagran Abhiyan was conducted on November 14 to 29 last year.
