“Congress Cannot Be Allowed To Die”; What Prashant Kishor Said In His Presentation At Congress Leaders’ Meeting

Ashmita Chhabria

New Delhi: In his presentation at the meeting with Congress President Sonia Gandhi and other top party leaders, Poll Strategists Prashant Kishor said that the party cannot be allowed to die. He said, “The Indian National Congress cannot be allowed to die It can only die with the nation.”

After repeated failures witnessed by the party, first in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and then in the assembly elections held earlier this year, the sinking ship of the party depends on a solid plan to reclaim its lost glory. For rising again, the party’s leadership sought Prashant Kishor’s insights. He is understood to have delivered a blueprint for the Congress’s revival.

In his presentation, Prashant laid out Congress’s current political situation nationwide. He focused party’s statistical strengths and weaknesses. In his presentation, he made a blueprint for the preparation of the 2024 Lok Sabha election. Blueprint highlighted India’s population, the number of Congress MPs and MLAs, and the party’s outlook towards women, youth, small businessmen, and farmers. Prashant Kishor also focused on the importance of the 13 crore first-time voters in 2024.

Reminding the Congress leadership about the Congress members in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha said that Congress had just 90 MPs in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and 800 MLAs in the country. He said that the party is in power in three states and ruling in coalition with other parties in three more. In 13 states it plays a role as the main opposition. He reminded Congress that since 1984, its vote percentage had kept decreasing.

PRASHANT KISHOR’S ADVICE TO CONGRESS

1. Congress needs to resolve its leadership crisis.

2. Alliance issues need to be resolved.

3. The party must return to its previous ideals.

4. The Congress will have to mobilize its workers and leaders at the grassroots level.

5. The party needs to overhaul its communication system.
