Former Mayawati’s Party Minister Rangnath Mishra Joins BJP

Lucknow: Former Uttar Pradesh minister Rangnath Mishra joined the BJP in Lucknow on Saturday.

Mr Mishra was the secondary education minister from 2007-2012 in the BSP government headed by Mayawati.

Former Samajwadi Party MLA Manish Rawat also joined the BJP, the saffron party said.

It said Mr Rawat joined the party for reposing faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Union minister Shobha Karandlaje was present on this occasion.

UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh welcomed the leaders into the party fold.

In 2 Separate Encounters 5 Terrorist Shot Dead In J&K: Police

New Delhi: In two separate encounters five terrorists including a Jaish-e-Mohammed commander,were shot dead buy the police force,the police official said.

The encounters took place during anti-terror operations in Pulwama and Budgam districts last evening, they said.

“5 terrorists of Pakistan sponsored proscribed terror outfits LeT and JeM killed in dual encounters in last 12 hours. JeM commander terrorist Zahid Wani and a Pakistani terrorist among the killed. Big success for us,” the police said in a tweet.

In another operation in Chrar-e-Sharief area of Budgam district, one terrorist was killed. Police said one AK rifle was recovered from the encounter site.

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar has termed the encounters as a major success for the police. 

In the last month, 22 terrorists have been killed during more than a dozen encounters in the Valley.
