Mumbai: On the birth anniversary of Malharrao Holkar, the subedar of the Maratha empire, BJP MLC Gopichand Padalkar, paying his tributes slams Maha Vikas Aghadi government for wiping out the real history of the noble subedar of the Maratha Empire. He also made an appeal to people to join hands and work for the rights of the OBCs, Dhangar and other down-trodden people like Holkar.

Speaking of Holkar’s contribution, BJP MLC said, “After a defeat in Panipat, Holkar took the responsibility of Maratha empire and made it into an opportunity. He fought with Mughals and expanded the empire uphill Katak.”

He has never got any credits for his work from the established workers, and his name was tried to be strike out from the history, Padalkar said. He said, “If the masses would know the real history then they would rule and there won’t be any need to seek for our rights from ‘uncle-nephew’ politicians. He appealed people to take inspiration from Malharrao Holkar’s work. “We should not throw away political inferiority and fight for our rights. Malharrao has already taught us diplomacy. If someone is going against our rights, OBC reservation then we should stand firm to fight with them,” said Padalkar
