Gyanvapi Masjid Row: Shehzad Poonawalla Slams Ashok Gehlot For ‘Tamasha’ Remarks

New Delhi: On Wednesday, BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla slammed Congress. He accused the party of “mocking Hindu beliefs”. He took a swipe at Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for his ‘tamasha’ remarks. Ashok had said “BJP was creating a new drama in the country on the issue of Varanasi’s Gyanvapi mosque”.

He asks that is devotion for Baba is Tamasha for Congress. He tweeted, “Once again Congress mocks Hindu Astha. Ashok Gehlot says it is “Tamasha”. Devotion for Baba is Tamasha for ‘Janeudhari’ Congress? Court order to preserve Shivling is Tamasha? DNA of Cong to mock Hindus-they denied existence of Shri Ram-they labelled Hindutva as ISIS.”

On May 17, outside Gyanvapi Masjid in Varanasi, Hindu devotees start sloganeering “Baba mil gaye.” Soon after it was claimed that a Shivling had been discovered in a reservoir on the mosque campus.

Reacting on this incident Ashok Gehlot said that this was BJP’s “drama”. The mosque committee, though, dismissed the claim and said the structure was actually a fountain.
