Gyanvapi Mosque: Court Orders Continuation Of Survey, Commissioner Not To Be Removed

Varanasi: A UP court delivered its order on Gyanvapi Mosque row. The court said that commissioner won’t be removed. The court asked to continue the survey and submit a report till May 17. 

For the survey, two more lawyers have been appointed as commissioners to accompany the Court commissioner Ajay Mishra. “The commission will submit the report by May 17 before the court,” said Advocate Madan Mohan Yadav, representing Hindu petitioners in court.

The court has also ordered that the entire mosque complex be surveyed.

Court had appointed team for videography and survey of some areas outside the Gyanvapi-Shringar Gauri complex. On May 7, the are hit a roadblock after the court-appointed team was denied entry into the mosque amid protests. With the exercise cut short, the matter has landed back in court. A Varanasi court will be hearing plea on Monday, May 9. The Gyanvapi Masjid adjacent to the Kashi Vishwanath Mandir in Varanasi has long been at the centre of a multi-layered legal battle.

The local court had earlier directed the authorities to submit a report by May 10, however, the survey could not take place as the mosque committee had opposed the videography inside the mosque.

A petition was filed demanding removal of Advocate Commissioner Ajay Mishra, on behalf of Anjuman Arrangements Masajid Committee. After 3 days of arguments, the Court ordered that the survey of the premises shall continue.

The court has refused the removal of Advocate Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra Apart from him, the court has also made Vishal Kumar Singh and Ajay Singh court commissioners.

The Hindu side claims that the Advocate Commissioners were not allowed to conduct survey and videography by Muslim side.

It has also been said on behalf of the Hindu party that the Muslim party prevented him from going inside the Gyanvapi mosque and inside the basement saying that there is no such order of the court.

Speaking of the incident, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that his all is happening to gain political benefits, these issues will break the country. After Ram temple, now peace is needed.
