Gyanvapi Mosque Row: “Survey Report Not Ready,” Says Assistant Court Commissioner, Might Not Present Today At Court

New Delhi: Survey Report of Gyanvapi Masjid might not be presented in the Court today. Assistant Court Commissioner Ajay Singh said, “The survey report has not been prepared yet. After going through videos and photographs the report will be prepared. Next date will be sought for submission of report.

“The three-day survey explored all aspects. The survey report was slated to be submitted to court today. However, due to some unforeseen circumstances, the report could not be readied. Hence, it will not be submitted today [Tuesday],” he said.

He said that they will be seeking another date to file the report.

“Many photographs and lengthy footage were collected during the survey by multiple teams,” he said.

The discovery of Shivling on the Gyanvapi Masjid-Kashi Vishwanath temple complex in Varanasi during a court-mandated survey on Monday, has given more spark to the mandir-masjid debate.

On Tuesday (May 17), the Supreme Court is expected to hear a petition from the mosque management committee, Anjuman-e-Intezamia. It is appealing a lower court’s order for a videography survey of the mosque complex, claiming that it violates the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991.
