Harish Rawat Responds To Amit Shah, Says, “I Am Uttarakhand’s Watchman, Will Bark, Even Bite If Need Arises”

Dehradun: Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat responded to the remarks made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and said that calling himself ‘the watchman of Uttarakhand’.

Harish Rawat said, “Amit Shah said a big thing – blessed is BJP’s culture, to call a worker of their rival political party so. Shah said ‘dhobhi ka… na ghar ka na ghat ka…’ He did not utter the word ‘dog’ but if he considers a political opponent as a dog, then that is his understanding.”

The senior Congress leader goes on to say, “My understanding is that in our religion, a dog is considered to be a part of Bhairon – who is the watchman of the Gods, and dogs guard homes.”

He added, “And if I am that, then I am the watchman of Uttarakhand – and if I have to bark for Uttarakhand, I will bark, if I have to speak, I will speak and remember, if the need arises to bite, I will bite too.”

On the hijab controversy, Harish Rawat said, “The BJP is welcome to hijab, khijab, tejab issues, the people of Uttarakhand do not care about them. This is BJP’s dirty trick factory, in which such things are made up.”

He went on to add, “There are no buyers in Uttarakhand, where the public has made a pitch and whoever plays on it successfully will win.”

Rawat said the BJP cannot lay down the ‘communal pitch’ in Uttarakhand.

“All senior BJP leaders including PM Modi have tried, but the people of Uttarakhand are saying we will not give it manure, water, soil to this pitch,” said the Congress leader.

Harish Rawat said he is confident that the Congress would win in Punjab. He said, “We will form the government in Punjab. We will win Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur.”

Rawat also said that the Congress would be responsible for the BJP’s loss in Uttar Pradesh. “The credit for demolishing the BJP in Uttar Pradesh will go to us because Priyanka Gandhi has shaken the Yogi-Modi tree so much that it is bound to fall.”
