Human Brain, Eyes, Ears Found In A Shop In Maharashtra’s Nashik

Mumbai: In a closed shop, in building’s basement, in Mumbai Naka area of Maharashtra’s Nashik, human remains have been found, police said on Monday. 

Eight human ears, brains, eyes, and remains of facial parts have been found from the shop which was shut since last 15 years.

Police officials found two drums inside the shop. When they were opened, human remains were found in them. Among them were human skulls. There were eyes, ears and some other parts of the face. Police called the forensic team on the spot, and is probing the matter.

Since last few days, foul smell was emanating from the shop. On Sunday night, the residents alerted police, an official said.

“The shop was full of scrap material. However, when two drums were opened, we found human ears, brain, eyes and some face parts. The forensic team has taken custody of the human remnants for further probe,” he said.

Police said that the recovered human remains have been handed to the forensic team.

The owner’s sons are doctors, hence the remains might be preserved for medical purposes.

“The two sons of the shop’s owner are doctors. so it is possible these parts were preserved for medical purposes. However, a probe is underway covering all angles. No case has been registered so far,” the Mumbai Naka police station official added.

When police, during the investigation, spoke to the shop owner, who said that he did not know anything about the human remains.
