“If They Want Support, They Should Contact Us,”: Owaisi’s Message To MVA Ahead Of RS Polls

AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday claimed no one from the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra has contacted them for support in the upcoming elections to six Rajya Sabha seats from the state.

“If they want our support, they should contact us,” Mr. Owaisi told while speaking to reporters in Nanded.

After more than two decades, the state will witness a contest in the Rajya Sabha polls as seven candidates are contesting for six seats, scheduled for June 10th.

The BJP has fielded Union minister Piyush Goyal, Anil Bonde, and former MP Dhananjay Mahadik, while Shiv Sena has put up two candidates – Sanjay Raut and Sanjay Pawar. NCP has renominated Senior leader Praful Patel, while Congress has fielded Imran Pratapgarhi.

The AIMIM held a meeting in Nanded on Monday, but the party did not come up with any decision on support to the MVA or the BJP.
