Lucknow: Amid Gyanvapi row, a lawsuit demanding the removal of a mosque in Mathura, said to be built on the “Krishna Janmabhoomi” or the birthplace of Lord Krishna, has been allowed by a court in Uttar Pradesh.
This means that the lawsuit can be heard by the court. Lucknow resident Ranjana Agnihotri, as the next friend of child deity Shri Krishna Virajman of the Katra Keshav Dev temple and six others, Hindu Army chief Manish Yadav and third by five other plaintiffs through advocate Mahendra Pratap Singh have filed a dozen cases in this regard. Akhil Bharat Hindu member Dinesh Sharma filed the latest plea on Wednesday.
According to the petitioner, Shahi Idgah mosque was built at the Krishna Janmabhoomi on the orders of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in 1669-70.
Said to be build by Lord Krishna’s Great-grandson Vajranabha in the 6th century BC, the temple is located in the middle of the Mathura city, belived to be the birthplace of lord krishna.
A couple of weeks before the UP assembly polls, UP Deputy CM keshav Prasad Maurya had tweeted “Ayodhya Kashi bhavya mandir nirman jari hai, Mathura ki taiyari hai,” which translates to “Grand temples are being constructed in Ayodhya and Kashi, preparations are on for Mathura.”
