Man Who Helped In Mohali Attack Detained, Along With Two Other Suspects

New Delhi: A Faridkot resident has been apprehended by Punjab Police as a suspect in the Mohali rocket launcher explosion.

Nishan Singh, the suspect, is accused of providing logistical support to the assailants. In Punjab, two more people have been arrested in connection with the case.

On Monday, a rocket-propelled grenade was thrown at the Punjab Police Intelligence Wing HQ in Mohali, causing a security worry in the border state.

“A number of suspects have been rounded up and questioned. The launcher used in the attack has been recovered by the police and all leads developed in the case are being pursued meticulously,” a statement issued by the Mohali police said.

At 7:45 p.m. on Monday, an RPG was shot at the third story of a heavily guarded building in Mohali’s Sector 77, prompting a Punjab alert.

A sub-inspector claimed he heard an explosion on the third story of the building and saw smoke coming out of a room when he went there. He claimed a projectile hit the ceiling before falling on a chair after hitting the wall and smashing window glass.

Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, met with top police personnel to discuss the attack.

Nobody will be allowed to harm Punjab’s tranquil atmosphere, according to Mr Mann. He claims that a few forces are always attempting to cause havoc across the state.

“Whoever tries to spoil the atmosphere of Punjab will not be spared and the strictest punishment will be given to them, which their coming generations will remember,” the Chief Minister said.
