Bezos’s visit to India comes at a crucial time as the Competition Commission of India has ordered an investigation into the business practices of the e-commerce majors Amazon and Flipkart.

Praveen Khandelwal, Secretary-General of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT)said: “We want Indian e-commerce market free from all defects, unhealthy and unfair business practices, and till the central government takes any action, our national protest will continue,”.

Amazon has committed $5.5 billion in Indian investments and sees the nation as a key growth market.
