Nirbhaya Gangrape and murder case 2012: No hanging for convicts on 22 January

Delhi High Court directs Tihar jail authorities to file the proper reports by Jan 17 about the status of the scheduled execution of convicts

New Delhi: There is a new twist in the Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case according to the supreme court verdict the convicts were supposed to be get hanged on 22 January 2020. But seems like the convicts will cheat the death sentence for few more days.

Ministry of Home Affairs sources: Home Ministry has received mercy petition of 2012 Delhi gang-rape case convict Mukesh Singh from Delhi government and it is under process

Delhi High Court directs Tihar jail authorities to file the proper reports by Jan 17 about the status of the scheduled execution of convicts. Directions passed after jail authorities informed, they wrote to Delhi government on the issue of scheduled execution in view of pending remedies

The Delhi government today rejected the mercy plea of the 2012 Delhi gang-rapes case convict Mukesh Singh.
