“To divert attention from Economic issues”: Sharad Pawar slams Modi govt’s CAA-NRC move

Sharad Pawar also asked why non-muslims from only three Muslim majority countries are being allowed under the CAA and not Tamils from Sri lanka?

 

Mumbai| Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar on Saturday said that the Citizenship Amendment Act is nothing but a ploy to divert the attention of people from serious economic issues. He was addressing people in Pune today.

He said that the Citizenship Amendment Act will hurt the religious and social unity and harmony of India.

Sharad Pawar also asked why non-muslims from only three Muslim majority countries are being allowed under the CAA. He asked, “NCP Chief Sharad Pawar: Why allow migrants only from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, under Citizenship Act? Why not from Sri Lanka also?”
