WATCH: Students across the country take it to streets to protest JNU attack

Students from Aligarh Muslim University took out a candlelight march, meanwhile, students in Hyderabad held a demonstration

New Delhi: On Sunday hours after a masked mob viciously attacked students and teachers of Jawaharlal Nehru University, students across India took to the streets to protest against the horrific incident.

In Mumbai, students from across educational organization gathered at the Gateway of India and raised slogans against incidents and some against the ABVP that was reportedly behind the attack and also demanded that the central government should act against the attackers who also defaced JNU property.

In Mumbai Actor Sushant Singh also reached Gateway of India where students are protesting against JNU violence.

Students from Aligarh Muslim University took out a candlelight march, meanwhile, students in Hyderabad held a demonstration. Students from Jadavpur University and Pune’s Film and Television Institute of India also joined in the agitation. Even Banaras Hindu University (BHU) protested against in incident.

 

On the other hand, hundreds gathered outside the police headquarters at Delhi’s ITO junction to condemn “police negligence” against the masked attackers. “We have come here immediately after hearing that there has been an attack on JNU. It is the government’s responsibility to protest the citizens of India, and that includes students. Can you imagine the disturbance that the parents of these children must be going through,” said one of the agitators.
