SP had hatched a conspiracy to riot during PM Modi’s rally: Sambit Patra

New Delhi: During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Kanpur rally, the matter of vandalism of vehicles is gaining momentum and BJP’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra has accused the Samajwadi Party of rioting. Sambit Patra, in a press conference on Wednesday, alleged that during PM Modi’s rally, the Samajwadi Party wanted to cause riots in Kanpur and there was an attempt to incite riots in the Muslim area, which failed.

Sambit Patra states that police has exposed the conspiracy.

Sambit Patra said that there was a conspiracy to create a riot in PM Modi’s Kanpur rally. Police busted the conspiracy on the basis of CCTV cameras and video footage and arrested a Samajwadi Party functionary. Along with this, the car has also been recovered. Just before the PM’s rally, in Naubasta, Kanpur, he himself vandalized and arson by putting a poster of PM on his own vehicle.

Sambit Patra said that yesterday, just before the Prime Minister addressed the rally, a video went viral on social media. There was a BJP car in that video, some lotus stickers were put on it and a poster of the Prime Minister was also put on the back of the car. After stopping the car at the middle of the crossroads, SP workers wearing red caps broke the vehicle and an attempt was made to set it on fire.

He said, the video of vandalism and arson was made viral just before the rally. A conspiracy was hatched through the video to incite BJP workers, to agitate them and to cause violence in the rally. The conspiracy failed due to the restraint of BJP workers and the activism of the police.

Sambit Patra further said, “The people who were vandalizing this vehicle, at that time the secretary of the SP student body, Sachin Kesarwani was also present there. Today in the newspapers some serious comments have been made on the Samajwadi Party regarding those subjects. How was the Samajwadi Party trying to end that rally, inciting riots in the rally and instigating riots in the city.”
