SRK Offers Dua At Lataji’s Funeral, “This Is Real India,” Says Twitter

Mumbai: As condolence messages and tributes pour in for Lata Mangeshkar on social media, a picture of Shah Rukh Khan offering dua has gone viral. In the image actor Shah Rukh Khan is seen offering dua during the legendary singer’s funeral at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park.

Lata Mangeshkar passed away at Breach Candy Hospital on February 6. She was 92.

In the visuals from the cremation of Lata Mangeshkar from Shivaji Park, on Sunday evening Shah Rukh Khan and his manager Pooja Dadlani were photographed paying their last respects. While SRK was seen offering dua, Pooja Dadlani was seen in offering pranam. 

On this picture several twitter users said that this picture personifies India’s unity in diversity. 

Amid this Shah Rukh Khan has been trending on social media. 

“The real India in one picture,” a social media user said. Another comment reads, “Shah Rukh Khan has earned respect. He deserves all the love.”

Lata Mangeshkar has a career spanning over seven decades. She had sung thousands of songs of Hindi Film industry. Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster hits such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil To Pagal Hai and Veer-Zaara featured chartbusters voiced by the iconic singer popularly known as the Nightingale of India.

Her final rites were attended by many politicians and celebrities. Her final rites were performed with full state honours in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and NCP chief Sharad Pawar, among others.

Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital on January 8 after she tested positive for Covid-19, and was under treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) over the past couple of weeks.

A recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1989, Lata Mangeshkar won several accolades for her melodious voice including the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. She was also awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour, in 2001.

An icon of Indian cinema, Lata Mangeshkar has left behind an exceptional body of work. Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna Hai, Mera Saaya Saath Hoga, Lag Jaa Gale, Ajib Daastan Hai Yeh and Iss Mod Se Jaate Hain are some of her memorable hit songs.
