The Saffron Flag May Become The National Flag In This Country Today Or Someday: KS Eshwarappa

Karnataka: Former Karnataka minister KS Eshwarappa has sparked controversy by once again claiming that the ‘Bhagwa’ or saffron flag may become the national flag of the country in the future. The senior BJP leader added that the saffron flag is a symbol of sacrifice.

“In RSS, we pray in front of the saffron flag to inculcate that value in us. “The saffron flag may become the national flag in this country today or someday. There is no doubt in it.”

“We don’t have to hoist the tricolor whenever they [Congress] tell us. The tricolor is the national flag according to our constitution and we give it whatever respect it deserves,” he said.

Eshwarappa, who was sacked following the death of a contractor who alleged corruption, had earlier courted controversy on the same issue. He had said on February 9: We will hoist the saffron flag everywhere. Today or tomorrow, India will become a Hindu nation. Even at Red Fort.
