Uttarakhand CM Defers Transfer Of Dr Nidhi Uniyal, Probe Ordered

Dehradun: Following her relocation to Almora Soban Singh Jeena Hospital, Dr. Nidhi Uniyal, a prominent female doctor at Doon Medical College Hospital, resigned on Thursday. The doctor resigned due to harassment at the request of Secretary of State for Health Pankaj Kumar Pandey’s wife, who had been aggressive and disrespectful to him. After taking note of the situation, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has decided to postpone the transfer until Friday.

CM has given instructions to form a committee to investigate the matter. The Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu has nominated Additional Chief Secretary Manisha Panwar to investigate it.

Dr. Nidhi Uniyal, an Associate Professor at Doon Medical College, resigned on Thursday. According to the letter, she was instructed to ‘visit the unwell wife of Mr. Pankaj Pandey, IAS and Uttarakhand Health Secretary.’ The doctor paid a visit to her home with two of her hospital workers, leaving the OPD open and keeping a number of patients at the hospital waiting.

She did a thorough examination of the Health Secretary’s wife, but she left the blood pressure monitor in the car. The instrument was late in arriving. According to the doctor, IAS’s wife “resorted to using unpleasantry terms denigrating her career and behaviour.” ‘I was asked to express an apology to Pandey’s wife,’ Dr. Nidhi said. As a result, she’refused to make an apology.’
