Watch: Smriti Irani Confronted By Congress Leader Over Rising Inflation

New Delhi: Union Minister Smriti Irani had boarded a Delhi-Guwahati flight were she encountered with Netta D’Souza, the acting chief of Congress women’s wing. Ms. D’Souza was interrogating her on fuel price hike.

D’Souza later tweeted a video of interrogating Smriti Irani. Smriti too is recording a video in her cell phone.

D’Souza tweeted the video on Twitter and captioned, “Faced Modi Minister @smritiirani ji, enroute to Guwahati. When asked about Unbearable Rising Prices of LPG, she blamed Vaccines, Raashan & even the poor! Do watch the video excerpts, on how she reacted to common people’s misery!”

In the video Congress leader was questioning Smriti Irani about price hike and other passengers were deboarding flight.

Initially Irani said that the Congress leader was blocking the way. When she was asked about the shortage of cooking gas and “stoves without gas”, the minister is heard saying “please don’t lie”.

In last few days the prices of petrol and diesel have been hiked by ₹ 10 a litre. There has been no hike in the last two days.

In Delhi, a litre of petrol is now being sold at ₹ 105.41, while diesel is being sold at ₹ 96.67 a litre.

In Mumbai where fuel prices are the highest among the four metros — petrol is retailed at ₹ 120.51 per litre while diesel is being sold at ₹ 104.77 per litre.

Recently, Karnataka Congress had put up posters targeting Smriti Irani over fuel price hike.

Fuel prices were steady for past few months for over four months despite the spike in crude oil prices. The opposition has claimed this move of BJP as a poll tac tic and had warned that after polls the prices will be hike.
