BSP Chief Mayawati suspends lawmaker for cross-voting

Mayawati in a bold move today suspended one of the lawmakers, named Anil Kumar Singh after he openly declared that he cast his vote in BJP’s favour in the Rajya Sabha elections. BSP was beaten in the Rajya Sabha by the BJP just after she aided the Samajwadi Party to win two parliamentary seats in the current bypolls. While making an address this evening, the BSP party chief stated that her partnership with the Samajwadi party stays intact despite they have lost another candidate.

It was yesterday that Anil Kumar Singh had openly stated that he had cross-voted for BJP, saying, “I am with Maharaj-ji (Yogi Adityanath) “.

Moreover, reacting to the loss of the candidate, Mayawati remarked that BJP’s win in the state is nothing short of malpractices and the voting was swayed by creating an environment of fright. She further asserted that the ruling party was trying hard to break the alliance of SP-BSP but it will not be successful in this attempt.

Further, the ANI cited the BSP chief saying, “BJP did not abstain from getting involved in malpractices. They thrust all their energy to make sure that the BSP candidate does not win. The whole system was so organized as to make it a point that the freshly formed bond between SP and BSP loosen.”

Amit Shah’s letter replete with false information: Chandrababu Naidu

TestHostEntry

Naidu said, “Amit Shah’s letter is full of false information which shows their attitude. Even now Centre is providing special benefits to North Eastern states. Had Andhra Pradesh been given the same hand holding, many industries would have come to the state”.

Chandrababu Naidu, chief minister of Andhra Pradesh brushed off the letter written by Amit Shah today stating that it is replete with false information.

Naidu said, “Amit Shah’s letter is full of false information which shows their attitude. Even now Centre is providing special benefits to North Eastern states. Had Andhra Pradesh been given the same hand holding, many industries would have come to the state”.

Refuting the allegation made by Amit Shah, that the state government was unable to make good use of the funds allocated to it by the Centre, he stated, “Amit Shah in his letter says Centre gave many funds to the state, we couldn’t utilise them. They’re trying to say Andhra Pradesh government is incapable. Our government has good GDP, agriculture and many national awards. That’s our capability. Why are you spreading lies”?

The letter was jotted down after TDP pulled out of NDA government in the Centre regarding the issue of granting special status for Andhra Pradesh. Shah, today in the letter termed the decision taken by TDP to pull out of NDA as “unfortunate and unilateral”.

Shah wrote in the letter, “This decision is both unfortunate as well as unilateral. It is a decision, I am afraid will be construed as being guided wholly and solely by political considerations instead of development concerns. It is widely known that the Union Government has not left any stone unturned in ensuring growth and prosperity of Andhra Pradesh”.

Shah for that matter quoted a number of developmental projects taken up by the Centre for the state apart from the funds allocated to it as he rejected the charge that the BJP government did not keep its word. He said, “ You may recall that during the previous Lok Sabha and in Rajya Sabha, when your party did not have adequate representation, it was the BJP that set the agenda and ensured that justice is done to the hardworking Telugu people in both states.”

Listing five infrastructure projects the Central government has initiated in the state, Shah said that “a perusal of these would reaffirm what you already know and perhaps would not admit that Central government has fulfilled its obligations and that BJP is a genuine friend and true well-wisher of the state.”
