CJI Chandrachud stresses democracy’s inclusivity.

Chief Justice of India, D Y Chandrachud, emphasized the necessity for citizens’ freedom in a democracy. He asserted that the State should support the weaker sections, whether numerically or socially, ensuring both majority rule and minority representation. Speaking on ‘democracy, debate and dissent’ in the Justice Keshav Chandra Dhulia memorial lecture in Dehradun on Saturday, he stressed the importance of allowing minorities a voice in decision-making.
