All Most 41% Hike In Daily Covid Cases With 5,233 New Infections

Daily coronavirus infections in India crossed 5,000 after 93 days, taking the total tally of active cases to 28,857, according to the Union Health Ministry.

New Delhi: On Wednesday, India reported 5,233 new Coronavirus cases, up 41% from the day before, as infections spiked in some areas.
According to the Union Health Ministry, daily coronavirus infections in India surpassed 5,000 after 93 days, bringing the total number of active cases to 28,857.

According to government figures updated at 8 a.m., the total number of deaths has risen to 5,24,715 with seven more fatalities. Since the start of the pandemic, India has reported 4.31 crore Covid cases.

Maharashtra led the way, with 1,881 new coronavirus cases reported Wednesday evening, an increase of 81% and the biggest number since February 18.

According to the state health agency, one case of B.A.5 variation was also detected in the state.

There were 1,242 new cases in the state capital of Mumbai alone, nearly quadruple the number on Monday.
According to the government, the daily positivity rate in India was 1.67 percent, while the weekly positivity rate was 1.12 percent.

On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 tally surpassed 20 lakh, followed by 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16.
