Donald Trump, Joe Biden Win New Hampshire; Potential 2024 Rematch

The race for the upcoming U.S. Presidential elections is intensifying, with former President Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden gearing up for a potential rematch in 2024. Trump secured a victory in New Hampshire’s Republican presidential primary, marking his second consecutive win after Iowa. This sets the stage for a potential face-off with Biden in the November 2024 elections. Trump’s rival, former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley, finished second in a bid to upset Trump’s momentum.

Biden, despite not actively campaigning, emerged victorious in the New Hampshire Democratic primary as a write-in candidate. Democrats defied party rules by holding their primary in the crucial state before South Carolina. Despite not appearing on the ballot, Biden’s win positions him as a key player in the Democratic race.

Trump’s back-to-back victories in Iowa and New Hampshire, where he won by a significant margin, make him the first Republican since 1976 to sweep both states, setting the stage for the White House showdown. The New Hampshire primary marked the first one-on-one matchup between Trump and Nikki Haley after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, once seen as Trump’s challenger, dropped out and endorsed the former president.

While Trump’s triumph in New Hampshire boosts his momentum, there are concerns within the Republican primary voters. Nearly half express doubt about Trump’s fitness to serve if convicted, as he faces multiple criminal charges, including efforts to overturn the 2020 election and allegations of paying off an adult star for silence, as indicated by exit polls.

On the economic front, over two-thirds of Republican primary voters highlighted concerns about the American economy, stating it was either poor or not good. Despite these hurdles, Trump’s victories position him as a formidable candidate, while Biden’s unexpected win in New Hampshire adds an intriguing dynamic to the unfolding electoral landscape. The focus now shifts to upcoming primaries, especially in South Carolina, where candidates like Nikki Haley aim to shape the trajectory of the race.
